As Winter Comes

Oh! There came no sunshine back home today.
So faint it’s music now as snowflakes play
O’er the cold-winded leaves fallen away.

And so it is so always so – so always so

As winter comes again so — so comes the snow.
Comes with its sorrows and growth’s tomorrows
From shrill wind’s freeze where naked limbs tremble
With holds of snowfalls as shivers wobble.
As winter comes again so comes the snow
With Primal snowflakes dancing like Gracenote’s
With new themes from freeze and old schemes so cold.

And so it is so always so – so always so

As summered souls, like sap, hold hope in place
Till all hug firm in the sun’s embrace
Romancing with life’s new lively prance
That brings buds, birds, and bugs to dance —
Blooming new memories as leaves to trees
The meltings flowing down for roots to breathe.
Oh! There came no sunshine back home today.
So faint it’s music now as snowflakes play.

And so it is so as always so —

Some will never see another spring,
Their glistenings gone with the grounded leaves.
Their thawings tanged to harvest-garden sheaves–
Their charms beyond snows send tomorrow’s gifts.

And so it is so always so —

Workers work, markets mark, groceries please:
Those holding-on compose like symphonies
Life’s romance with new songs to sing—
Hummed now as icicles rime their cling
Waiting for drip-time’s chime back on time.
Oh! There came no sunshine back home today,
So faint it’s music now as snowflakes play
O’er cold-winded leaves all fallen away
With shrill winds snowing naked limbs to bend
With winter’s revival of thoughts to mend.
Soon fresh dawned families plan their garden
With blue-sky-bird-choirs singing spring’s new day
Warming homes with dreams beyond snow and ice.
So, just as winter comes again to blare its voice,
So, children run out to play their paradise
As soft snow memories grace each bright face.
Singing as winter comes – so comes the sun,
Comes shining back home for all to rejoice.

So it is so – so always so! Ahh! So always so!
