What does it mean to say “Goodbye!”

With grass so green, the sky so blue?

What does it mean to say “Goodbye!”

Bird’s nesting, daffodils nodding “Hi!”?

 

A softness in the wind still blows one’s hair;

Clouds have parted for sun to shine its beams.

How minnowed-ripplings smoothing sharpest stones

Can sound-true what it means to say “Goodbye!”

So many “Goodbyes!” —  sorrows into rain;

Voices drowned o’er precipices’ avalanche,
